ZIM is
two independent true-bypass effects in one pedal. You get to configure
what they are and what order they're in. The two channels' functions are
determined by the ZIMcards that are installed.
As of July, 2022, ZIM Dual Drive has been replaced with Mini ZIM, for which ZIMcards and ZIMcard Swap are available here:
ZIM
is like two separate pedals joined at the hip. There is a default
signal flow through the pedal so that no patch cord is needed. However,
each channel has its own Input and Output jacks which can patch in any
order, at different places in your signal chain. ZIM can even be used to
process a stereo signal.
ZIM's
Channel B voicing section uses 8 cascading stages of phase shift which
can be mixed both in and out of phase. This creates an almost limitless palate of tones simulating different amps and mic'ing techniques.
ZIM's
two channels use plug-in cards, called ZIMcards, for their processing.
ZIM comes with a pair of ZIMcards already installed. The current default
ZIMcards are Vintage Tube in Channel A and Hot 9 in Channel B. This
pair gives a wide range of overdrive sounds. If you'd like us to
customize your ZIM pedal with specific ZIMcards, choose Channel A and B
cards from the dropdown menu above.
Did you ever wish you had a Fuzz with a level boost? Or an Octave with overdrive? Or an overdrive with a switchable treble boost? Distortion and OD in one pedal? With ZIM you can pair up different effects to create your desert island pedal. If your tastes change and you need, for example, Fuzz instead of Distortion, you don't have to change pedals. Swap out the ZIMcard and now your ZIM is a Fuzz pedal.
