and have gotten this far, then you understand that ZIM's two channels
use plug-in cards for their processing. Any card can go into either
slot, and any combination can be tried. This gives you the ultimate
flexibility for configuring your own ZIM! It also allows you to
justify having multiple ZIMs, putting out completely different

When you order ZIM, it comes with a pair of ZIMcards already installed. The current default ZIMcards are:
Channel A: VT Vintage Tube
Channel B: H9 Hot 9
(Check out preliminary sound clips)
Unless otherwise specified when ordering, this is the default configuration. See bottom of page for more information on default configurations.
This pair gives a wide range of overdrive sounds, Channel A (VT) is a clean, transparent OD with plenty of headroom and a natural voicing that sounds great with a strat. Channel B (H9) is great for dirtier, grittier sounds. And the two channels cascaded are great for lead work.
If you would like to try other combinations you have a couple of options. If you don't mind being without a channel in your ZIM for a week or two you can send a ZIMcard in for a card-swap. Or, if you'd like you can purchase spare ZIMcards. If you find yourself with spare ZIMcards that don't get any use, there's a buy-back arrangement so that they don't go to waste. Open your ZIM** and take note of what ZIMcards are installed. Look at what's available and decide what you want to swap out. Print out the ZIMcardswap.pdf document and fill it out. Remove the card, pack it up, include the form and send it in.You'll be asked to include $10.00 to cover handling and return postage. There it is - it's quick, easy, painless, and inexpensive to totally change the sound of your ZIM. You can swap to your hearts content.. you can even ask about special mods to make ZIM fit your needs whatever they might be.

ZIMcard buy-back
If you purchase extra ZIMcards for experimentation and would like to return what you don't think you'll use, Foxrox will buy them back for full price within 30 days of your purchase. After 30 days, Foxrox will offer to buy them back for $40.00 each. This way you'll never be stuck with extra cards you don't need.

**ZIM's #1 through #59 do not have their ZIMcards labeled. Both cards are variations of H9, but not exactly the same.
** Changes in the default configuration result from user and dealer feedback. Product changes, or enhancements are commonly done on just about everything without customers ever being notified. The great thing with ZIM is that if you want to update or change your configuration, all you need to do is swap out the cards!
