I gotta admit i was skeptical. Two overdrives in one? Surely i
won't like
them both...
Wow was i ever wrong. They compliment
each other so well. I turned on the
clean smile first and its fantastic. Has just enough grit for
me to keep my
ts808 in the closet. Smooth mild overdrive! I love it! Next i
messed with
the hotter channel for a while, playing with the phase select
and boost/cut
knob. I like that side of the pedal too...deffinately better than
running
my ts808 into a phase45
Now for the real test! Will
the clean smile really boost the hotter channel
and still sound natural and smooth? Will it give me a bass infused
palm
muting CRUNCH???YES! In fact, its like its one pedal! No one would
have
any idea it was really one pedal boosting another!

Hi Dave,
I LOVE the Hot 9 card. I put it in with the tone control left
on factory setting and it sounds great with every guitar/amp combo
I have tried it with so far. Even with the voicing off it sounds
fantastic. I had the original DriveCard 'B' tone almost all the
way down and had to set the voicing on #3, 4 or 5 boosted to 1:30-2:00
to get the sound I like. But the H9 sounds great even flat and
on most of the Voicing settings (with it boosted between 1:00-3:00)
I can get more sounds now and they all sound great. It seems to
interact better with the Clean Smile card too. (I have the CS
tone control set between 2:00 & 3:00) I would say before I
put the H9 in, this was the closest thing to the Holy Grail of
OD's, now I would say it is the Holy Grail of ODs! Thanks so much
for letting me try out the different cards.

OH MY GOD! Dave, this pedal
is amazing. There is so much transparency going on in
this pedal that its sick. I think I've coaxed just about every
guitar sound in history
out of this little box. What a GREAT PEDAL! Thank you for making
a product that is
not only musical sounding but also extremely practical for any
application. And also
it's dead quiet. I'll keep my eye on your website for future cards.

ZIM arrived on saturday. to be honest it took me a day or two to warm up to it. I took it to tuesday's rehearsal and found a magic voice setting that made everyone perk up. FOr the first time since I joined this band my guitar realy fit into the mix. I'm in a two guitar band and me and the other guy clash at times, tone wise it gets shrill and this ZIM smooths things out for me. I was able to sound loud fat and crunchy without being shrill and defeaning. Now I have to convince Geno to pop for one LOL!

Great pedal..Five minutes after playing the A side I took my ****
off my
pedalboard..The B side is in a class of its own. I hear all kinds
of
different sounds ranging from tubescreamers with no mid hump to
full blown
Hiwatts..I will plug the Zim to everyone I know and the 2 effects
forums I
get on..... The A side sounds a lot better than I expected...You
duh Man...

I'm in love with this thing now! Realy in love!!! I realize how great it is to have 2 separate pedals instead of just a boost button!!!! I like maxed out 808 and ts type clean boost! the zim delivers. Just got through jamming for an hour! This pedal is amazing!!! It is currently resting next to the CC2 which permanatly lives on my pedal board! This overdrive is the best I've come across so far in it's category. .....

I played out with the ZIM this weekend and..
"I don't need to fix no stinking tone controls" ..
The thing ROCKS.. I just needed to learn how to really set it up in a live situation.. As you know amps and setup never sound the same when you are just screwing around by yourself vs. when you are gigging.. The unit is GREAT in a gigging situation, which is all I care about.
I really like the ZIM ALOT..

I'll keep it short this time. I LOVE it. Lots of incredible sounds that are easy to get to. Replaced a ***** and a ***** pedal on my board... Really it sounds great! ....
