Here are some riffs and solos that show TZF in action with a Captain Coconut 2! Just about all of them use Negative TZF and a Foxrox Expression pedal for controlling the Manual setting. In some places, the guitar is doubled in stereo and panned hard left/hard right. But unless it's mentioned, all guitars are in stereo using TZF's stereo outputs. These files are all around 30 seconds each, and average around 200K each.
This clip features some Envelope Controlled flanging during the first part. Listen to how dynamic the flange is during the first half. It's set so that TZF sweeps right over the zero point as I hit the strings. The second part features two guitars, one on each side, with a fast Leslie-type sound.
Here's a screaming (CC2) Octave solo with pedal control of the Negative TZF effect. Listen to the long sweeps at the end.
The first part is the (CC2) Hybrid FuzzFoot. After about ten seconds, I kick in the Octave effect.
This one starts out with stereo guitars, then works it's way into a Kravitz type riff. Then, at the end there's a clean, off the cuff Hendrix-rhythm type riff. IT's a little strange, but it works out at the end. The cool thing here is that Paradox TZF was used to get mild, ambient sounds instead of in-your-face flanging.
I was going to trash this clip because some of my bends were just a hair flat, especially the one at the very end. But after listening a few times, I decided to use it anyway because the effects sound so good! It's a great example of the CC2 Hybrid Fuzz getting abused by TZF!
8/18/02 Here's something I did with a Boss DR5 mid box, Paradox TZF (1st production unit), an unnamed "amp simulator" device, a mixer and a mini disc recorder. It's a psychedelic Texas blues type of riff that shows off how cool Paradox TZF can sound. For this piece, all flange modulation is done with Envelope control. While playing I was able to make the flange point go up and down, passing over the zero point at the perfect moments. Give it a listen...
